Community will confront you

Steve Mellor explains why high performers often avoid the one thing that accelerates growth: community, especially with strangers. When you walk into a room where nobody knows you, you lose the advantage of being known. No one cares about your resume, your titles, or your track record… and you’re forced to meet yourself without the old story.

Because the people who love you most can keep relating to an older version of you. A mirror can show you who you are, but it can’t give you feedback on who you’re capable of becoming.

Are you avoiding the rooms that would reveal your next level?
