7-Time Olympic Medalist - Amanda Beard

Amanda Beard, one of the greatest American women to have ever graced a swimming pool joins the show to discuss her career including a meteoric rise to stardom as a 14 year old Olympic medalist back in 1996, to how she handled the highs of further Olympic journeys as well as the ensuing lows that followed once journeys came to an end. 

We hear about the role Amanda is now playing as the owner of a Swim School (Beardswimco.com) and the mother of 2 budding athletes on somewhat similar paths to the one she was on 25 years ago. 

A significant topic that came from the discussion includes that of balancing passions in life to where we can have more facets to our identity so we are not guilty of putting all our focus on one thing that consumes our entire being. Amanda is a huge advocate for, firstly, prioritizing a balance of priorities in life, while also making sure we find ways to switch off from commitments we may have that consume a lot of our energy already.
